This clutch is made from a Furisodé Kimono, which are the most decadent type of Kimono worn by unmarried women on formal occasions. The Kanji for Furisodé 振袖 literally translates to shake/ swing and sleeves. Furisodé Kimonos are often brightly colored with gold accents, and the long sleeves swing round and round as the woman walks, a clear advertisement that she is available for marriage.

This Furisodé Kimono features a design dyed in the Katazome method - a traditional paste resist technique, finished with hand painted details.

Features gold zipper, hardware and a detachable strap.
