CLEANING & CARE

Most items are dry clean only, while some can be hand washed in cold water. Please see the product description for instructions on how to care for your item.

Some silks (such as Tsumugi) can be washed by hand in cold water and laid flat or hung to dry. But if in order to better preserve color, please have your garment dry cleaned (instead of washing). Turn garments inside out, and iron on warm setting.

If your garment is dry clean only, it has not been pre-washed. In some cases, if the Kimonos have been stored for a long time, there may be a musty or insect repellent odor. In such cases, please have your item dry cleaned before wearing.

Condition of Materials
A Kimono is folded to create its shape, so slight creases in the fabric are common. As you wear and have your garment cleaned, most creases should become less visible over time. While I take my time to carefully search out Kimonos that have no obvious marks, there may be small spots of discoloration or flaws that are not too visible. Please remember these are vintage, used materials. If you scrutinize the garment searching for flaws, you may find them.
