This tote is made from an antique Maru Obi 丸帯. Maru Obi is the most formal and luxurious type of Obi, distinguished by its single piece of fabric, patterned on both sides with heavy brocade. They are no longer typically worn having been replaced by Fukuro Obis, but are occasionally worn by performers or sometimes Geishas. Gold zipper and hardware.
