This dress is made from a vintage Komon Kimono. Komon 小紋 means small design. They are considered casual and can be worn for every day. The designs vary widely but as a rule, covers the entirety of the Kimono.
The weave is called Chirimen 縮緬 a traditional Japanese weaving technique developed in the late 16th century. The weft threads are tighter than the warp threads during weaving process, which gives the fabric unique texture.
The dress has bust darsts, flutter sleeves and an A-line skirt with matching ribbon ties.
