This clutch is made from a Fukuro Obi. Fukuro Obi 袋帯 are worn on formal occasions and often feature intricate embroidery with gold accents. A beloved flower in Japan, the chrysanthemum has been cultivated since ancient times for their beauty and medicinal purposes. The flower became the symbol of the imperial family in the Kamakura period, and represents nobility and longevity.
